This pest considered as “secondary pest” feeds and proliferates by the means of the trees which are in its spreading environment. Orthotomicus erosus damages the tree by feeding on the tissue under the bark during larvae and adult stages. While deforming the tissues under the barks of the tree it leads to a decrease of the resistance of the tree and to its death later on. Mass trapping is enable with special pheromone traps. Trapping are conducted during March, April, May, June, August, and September.
